Not to make the new Do617.com all about me, but my favorite addition might be the little status update on the homepage. Mostly because I get to write it. As if the socials, guides and daily newsletter weren't enough places to subject you to my thoughts.

Don't worry, I'm still putting my powers to good use; like hooking you up with free tickets to see Phillip Phillips next week.

NEW CHAPTER FOR LOCAL MARINE VETERAN

Cape Cod native Andrew Coville has lived a few different lives. First as a U.S. Marine, then as a police officer in his hometown of Yarmouth, until an accident brought his career to an abrupt end. Now a full-time author and filmmaker, Coville is ready to share his story. We caught up with him to talk about how he turned a new chapter into a whole new career.

THIS WEEKEND

LOCALS ONLY

• Working out is a little more appealing when you've got the Boston skyline to look at. View Boston is hosting Pilates in the Sky on Saturday and a sculpt class on Sunday. Not a bad way to break a sweat.

• A great cause and a whole lot of grunge history: Layne Staley Tribute East returns tomorrow, bringing musicians and fans together to honor Layne Staley and Mike Starr and support those affected by addiction.
