One of the coolest things about living in Boston is existing alongside actual history. Case in point: workers at Granary Burial Ground recently uncovered a nearly 300-year-old gravestone honoring Sebastian, a free Black man. It’s believed to be the oldest known marker for a free Black person in the country.

THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS

Boston has no shortage of cute shops selling candles, but Nyndia Diligent would rather show you how to make one. She’s the woman behind The Sweetest Thing Shop, a local boutique turning fragrance into a social event.
