The US Open always takes me back to college when my tennis team would crowd around the TV and turn aces and double faults into a drinking game. I’ve been glued to the screen this week and wondering why no one has handed me a Honey Deuce yet. The Match Point pop-up runs through Sunday, so there’s still time to fix that.

And while we’re making Sunday plans, Kim Gordon is in town and we’ve got a pair of tickets. Enter to win.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • September says summer’s over but these hot tub boats suggest otherwise. Grab some friends for a steamy ride around the Harbor.

  • Brian Henson’s Puppet Up! mixes master puppetry with comedy that would make Kermit blush. See the strings come off on September 27th at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre. Secure your seat.*

  • Brass Against flips your favorite rock anthems into full-blown brass warfare. Hear what they hype's about on October 30th at Capitol Center for the Arts. Win your way in.*

  • Vince Staples has spent the last decade saying exactly what’s on his mind, and we’re listening. The Cry Baby Tour stops at Roadrunner on November 1st.

A BOSTON MATCHMAKER ON WHY YOU’RE STILL SINGLE

Photo: Callie Harris

Boston has plenty of places to go on a date. Finding someone you actually want to go with? That’s a different story. Callie Harris made a career out of that problem. We asked the senior matchmaker at Three Day Rule what makes dating in Boston so brutal, which spots are trying too hard and where she’d go when the budget is more Dunkin’ than Deuxave.
